MINDSET :
Ever heard someone who’s trying to lose weight say things like “I’ve rearranged the cupboards, put the bread behind the veggies, moved the sweets” in an affect to stop reaching from them.
It’s BS.
Because until you’ve nailed these four Higher Order Habits you’ll continue to self sabotage. Whether it’s losing weight, growing a company, moving abroad or anything you want to do.
Be: Habit change is identity change. Who do you need to become in this next phase of your life? James Clear talks about don’t be someone that runs, be a runner. A runner goes out in the rain to get their session in . Don’t be someone who’s trying to get a few clients, be a highly successful, professional coach. How does that person act, behave, speak? Model that.
Do you need to rearrange the cupboards if your identify is one of a highly focussed, dedicated, healthy human? Of course not.
Clarity: The very first thing I work on with my coaching clients is clarity and strategy. I call it Vision to Action. Literally seeing the vision, seeing what you want and who you need to become, just that process alone is incredibly empowering. We f*** things up because we can’t see the outcome and we don’t know how to get there.
Do you need to rearrange the cupboards if you’ve got a crystal clear vision on who you need to be to achieve your goals? Of course not.
Urgency: The next step is making that vision so important, so urgent that nothing can stand in the way.
I have a friend who when we talk about goals always says things like “in 15 years I’ll be working for myself”… It’s meaningless over such a long time frame. Frankly it’s an excuse to not change your behaviour today that’s routed in either fear of failure, lack of commitment or lack of clarity and certainty.
If you don’t want to change your life set goals 20 years in the future with no short term milestone.
To change behaviour today there has to be urgency, investment, and pain.
Courage: “To boldly step where no man has gone before”… just kidding haha
Well only half kidding, because it’s having the courage to step where you have not been before.
To take small but bold steps every day into the unknown. To outwork your discomfort, in spite of conflicting demands on your time and your mind.
Two questions to ponder as I finish:
What’s your vision?
Who do you need to BE to get there?

MONEY:
What’s your criteria for working with a client? Seriously, it’s well worth considering. Who would you like to work with and what do they need to demonstrate to make it happen?

And when you have a clear set of criteria for clients to fit you get much better results and have so much more fun working with them.
Because they’re your people.
Real people, real results. That’s my tagline for my business and life coaching work. None of these fake testimonials.
Business is hard, getting where you want to be is hard.
And I need people to know that before we start. You have to do the work.
What would 5 things be that your clients must demonstrate to get to work with you?
FREEDOM:
You don’t need another course or certification, you are enough.
Clients don’t choose people according to their badges. They make choices based on results.
Some coaches are what I call course junkies. They think that another badge is going to make them feel confident, make the prices increase and the clients come knocking.
Sorry but it doesn’t work like that.
Everything you want is on the other side of simply being at peace with the fact you are good enough right now.
Let yourself get out there and deliver incredible results.
Let your clients do the talking.
Show your results to the world.
Tell your story to the world.
The freedom you will get when you stop trying to tick more certification boxes will be a game changer for you I promise.
You are enough. You just need to do the work you don’t like now.
