3 Things to Change Your Life…
by Brendan Chaplin
Hey friend,
The first newsletter of the new year, let’s get things started with a bang!
So much in store for you in this next 12 months. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you.
For today…
You are a leader. What can we learn from the man on the hill.
So what now what? I don’t care about your story to this point.
Hard days versus Good Days.
Almost forgot…Here’s to an amazing 2025 and a Happy New Year to you and your family.
Over 10,000 people read this newsletter every single week.
Thank you for supporting my work, it means a lot to me.
Xx
Some breakthroughs from readers this last month:
(Some have asked to be anonymous, others have not)
Darren says: "The ‘one trait of high performers’ post made me realise I’ve been hesitating too much, it’s about just making the call as you say”.
Anonymous says: "I finally realised I was overcomplicating everything. The idea that one clear, bold move could shift everything hit me hard. I stopped tweaking the small stuff and went all in on the one offer that felt right”.
Jennifer says: "Your post about challenging clients made me think about how much I’ve been avoiding confrontation – not just with clients, but with myself. I kept sugar-coating things, worried people wouldn’t stay if I was too direct. I had a hard conversation with a long-term client, and instead of pushing back, they thanked me. I didn’t expect it to feel this good to stand firm. It’s like I unlocked a new level of respect – for them and for myself."
Sarah says: "Your post about building authority by challenging clients really landed with me. I stopped sugar-coating things and gave direct, honest feedback in my last session. Not only did my client appreciate it – they actually increased their investment in my program."
If you have had a moment of clarity or inspiration from my work simply reply to this and tell your story :)
MINDSET :
The man on the hill proved that it takes three people to create a movement.
Not 300, or 30,000 (that comes when you’ve got your first 3)…
Just three.
Why? Watch the video. It’s basic human psychology that repeats and repeats.
Even down to when you
Your job as a leader ( and if you get out of bed in the morning you’re leading) is to get to the third person. The third believer, and help them to tell their version of the story.
Joe did this. Jane did that.
You are their biggest fan not the other way round.
“People just like you are achieving all the things you want. Come and join us.”
Client focussed storytelling is really what will take you to the best year you’ve ever had.
And you literally only need to get to three.
Start today.
MONEY:
“So what now what.”
A friend of a friend uses this phrase as a way of reviewing proposals.
“Okay great, you’ve done this work, what happens next?” Is what she’s really saying.
But there’s a deeper meaning. One that’s calling us out on our own stories.
A beautifully equal, and brutal truth that’s important to hear.
Divorced and unhappy, so what now what?
Sold your business for millions, so what now what?
Fallen on hard times, so what now what?
Completed your 15th Ironman, so what now what?
You are the author of your story.
How will it end?
So what now what is telling you to turn off the noise, close the laptop and press reset. Let it load with a blank canvas.
The beauty is we’re not computers. Every virus actually improves us.
As long as you realise that the story is still being written.
FREEDOM:
The hard days teach the good days reward.
I heard that the other day, thought it was good.
Either way you win.
“We win or we learn”, as John Kavanagh acclaimed MMA coach says.
If we are in this for passion, which most of us are you might even feel more atteracted to the hard days. You get better at getting better.
But rewards are so important too. They give you the stories to tell. Reward yourself well is my advice.
What has the last 12 months taught you?
What rewards will you have in this next 12 months?
