MINDSET : 

Change happens when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of change.

It’s so much easier to stay where you are. Until it’s not.

When I was 19 working on building sites and on the evenings as a doorman the pain of that future was too much for me. I made a commitment to pursue my deep passion and become a full time martial artist.

Then something interesting happened.

Even though I’d only made the decision and was still in the lag period before it became a reality my life changed right then and there. I was in less pain because I could see a brighter future for myself. Because I’d fully committed.

You can’t fake this stuff.

But you can accept and even amplify the pain instead of ignoring it. To drive the change you really want in your life.

MONEY:

The Backwards Law is an important one for coaches and business growth.

“The more you pursue something, the more you reinforce the fact that you lack it, ultimately making it harder to attain” (Mark Manson).

In simple terms, the harder you chase happiness, success, or calmness, the more elusive they become. Instead choose to accept where you are and from there you can grow.

What does this mean for coaches? Well lots of things. It runs right through you as a person and into your business.

The harder you chase clients, the more you repel them.

Desperation doesn’t sell. All it does is show a lack of confidence and trust in yourself or your programme and people can really sense that energy.

Instead here’s the play. Focus on showing up, adding value, and building relationships, over the long term. Not today, not even this month. Be calm, be consistent and clients naturally gravitate toward you. Start conversations based on serving people.

I’ve said it before you cannot fake this. We are here to help people not to sell. So help people and guess what you will sell.

Calm confidence is very attractive. The less you force the sale, the more the right clients want to work with you.

The reality is people buy certainty. If you’re calm, grounded, and not pushing, you exude confidence in your results.

Then things open up for you.

FREEDOM:

Caves are people that are:

Constantly Against Virtually Everything.

You don’t want them around you. It will kill your joy and your energy. If you have a team it will kill your project.

I’ve been around a fair few of these people in my time, I’m sure you have too. Every time it goes the same way.

They might be talented but they are toxic.

If you want freedom, be ruthless.
